The Hornsea Harriers had an amazing time at Carnival

Some of the Hornsea Harriers took part in the Hornsea Carnival parade this year.

We had Zippy and George from Rainbow, Mr Potato Head, our Guinness World Record-breaking four-person caterpillar, and the one and only Mark Williamson on his unicycle.

It was an absolutely amazing parade, and the support from the public was out- standing. Three of our upcoming Harriers, Fraser, Herbie and Mollie, did a fantastic job collecting for next year’s carnival – and young Thomas was so happy to be picked out in the crowd!

The Hornsea Harriers’ charity for this year is the Motor Neurone Disease Association. We had a tombola on the Saturday to start our fundraising off, raising a fantastic £245.50. Thank you to everyone who sup- ported us.

On the Sunday morning the Harriers, in conjunction with the Carnival, held a family fun run in Hall Garth Park. The run of about a mile attracted a record number of runners. Zippy got everyone doing a warm-up before the fun run. Mr Potato Head was the lead runner, with George and Zippy joining the others.

Everyone enjoyed the fun run and received a medal for taking part.
