Active Withernsea is hosting a launch event later this month for its new Physical Activity Community Engagement (PACE) Network, which it says will be the future of physical activity and community engagement in the town.
A spokesman said: “The PACE network is about the people and the communities of Withernsea working together to create a happier, healthier, more active Withernsea.
“In all the ways that Withernsea could become an active place, there is a commitment to being inclusive, listening to others, trying new ways of doing things, celebrating what we do well now, and engaging everyone in the conversation.
“It’s the rhythm, movement and enjoyment of being in the company of others, being active, and inspiring others.”
The PACE network is free to join and will involve regular communication through the Active Withernsea team, as well as workshops and events, of which people can take part in as many or as few as they wish.
The launch event, on Wednesday, July 13, from 10am to 1.30pm at the Northfield in Waxholme Road, will feature a series of interactive sessions to give participants an opportunity to engage and make connections with the wider community, alongside informing attendees of the PACE Network’s purpose and role in the longevity of physical activity in Withernsea. The afternoon will also conclude with a free lunch.
People can reserve their place on Eventbrite, or by calling the Active Withernsea team on 01964 782299, emailing [email protected] or visiting the Active Withernsea shop at 170 Queen Street between 11am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
