The weather was just perfect for the Blooming Great Tea Party held in Keyingham on Sunday.
The Blackman family has hosted a tea party in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care for 15 years and has raised more than £8,000 in that time, with this year’s contributing £900 to the total.
Sandra Blackman, husband Paul and daughter Donna were joined by a loyal band of helpers in the back garden of their home in Northfield and supplied welcoming refreshments to a steady stream of callers during the day.
Takings were boosted by a tombola and cake, bric-a-brac and plant stalls manned by the volunteers and this year the party was held in memory of long-term supporter Shirley McCourt.
“We had a wonderful day meeting many visitors and I would like to thank everyone who came as well as those who donated prizes and articles for the stalls, but mainly our little band of wonderful helpers who do so much to make the event a great success,” said Sandra.
