A care assistant from Mere Hall Care Home in Hornsea has taken part in a skydive to raise money for “bucket list” funds.
In a bid to raise money for activities and trips for residents, 10 employees of Yorkare Homes, which runs the Hornsea home, took part in a 10,000ft skydive over Brigg airfield with Skydive Hibaldstow.
Olivia Baggaley, who raised £700, said: “The skydive went amazingly – I was a little nervous at the start but it was the most thrilling thing I’ve ever experienced in my life.
“I was supported by my work colleague and best friend Charlie. I was also supported by everyone from my care home that couldn’t be there.
“I wanted to raise as much money I could for the residents at Mere Hall Care Home, so I could make their last wishes come true.”
Nicola Anderson, Yorkare Homes marketing manager, said: “This has been such a thrilling and exciting experience for our employees and a really great way of bringing everyone together from across our nine care homes and head office team across East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire.
“This money raised is to help support the wishes of our residents and help them achieve or experience something that they never thought would be possible.
“We strive to go above and beyond for our residents and employees, and this has most certainly kicked off 2023 with a bang.”
In total the whole team has raised £5,354.
