Pupils rewarded for Poppy Appeal efforts

by Ray Duffill

Hedon Primary School has been recognised by Hedon and District Royal British Legion as being the most successful school fundraiser for last year’s Poppy Appeal collection.

Last week, the RBL invited Hedon mayor David Thompson to present the young fundraisers with its annual schools shield.

In addition to the shield, the pupils were also gifted celebratory King Charles III mugs.

The local Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal organiser, Jacky Towers, was
unable to attend the presentation, but her message of thanks to all those local traders, community groups, pubs, and particularly the local schools, for their continued support and generosity was conveyed.
