Puffins reunited for last time ahead of auctions

by Rebecca Hannant

All 42 of the Puffins Galore! project sculptures have been brought together for the last time before some are sold at auction and others are bought by sponsors.

As the project comes to an end, the puffins have been removed from towns, cities and villages across East Yorkshire ahead of the auctions next month.

The proceeds will all be donated to the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, the RNLI, RSPB and Hornsea Inshore Rescue.

Before the puffins are sold, they will be able to view by members of the public free of charge for one week only. The puffins will be able to view at West Building Supplies, Bridlington, on Friday, May 5, from 10am to 4pm, and Saturday, May 6, from 10am to noon, and Monday, May 8, to Friday, May 12, daily from 10am to 4pm.

Some of the puffins will go up for auction on May 13 at noon, while others have been bought by sponsors and will be displayed accordingly.
