Photo contest to mark town council’s 50th anniversary

Hornsea Town Council is hosting a photography competition as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.

The competition is open to everyone who lives in or visits the town. The picture can be from any time over the past 50 years right up to the present day.

The subject of the pictures must be from one of the areas that the town council manages,
i.e. the Memorial Gardens, Mereside, Hall Garth Park, Elim Gardens, Edenfield Cemetery, Southfield Cemetery, the Town Hall, Ebor Avenue play area, or any of the planted flower beds around the town centre.

The pictures will be judged by Hornsea’s mayor, Councillor Laura Embleton, and will all be displayed at the Town Hall during the exhibition.

A winner and runner-up will be chosen. Both pictures will win a prize and will be published on the Hornsea Town Council website and Facebook page.

As part of the competition an exhibition will take place at Hornsea Town Hall on Saturday, April 6.

Each applicant can send up to two photos. The closing date for submissions is 4pm on Friday, March 22.
