Paranormal investigators publish sequel to popular book

A pair of local paranormal investigators have written a follow-up to their successful first book on their investigations across the region.

Heaven Only Knows, by Vic Harbord and Christine Townend, investigated strange phenomena in Yorkshire and beyond – and they say their second book, Heaven Only Knows II, is a “must” for anyone interested in the paranormal.

Since their first book was published, Vic and Christine have appeared on the Talk TV show Unexplained Mysteries, hosted by Howard Hughes, as well as having one of their investigations appear in local and national newspapers. They have also made three short films with a local film company called Newmount Films, based on encounters from some of their investigations.

In their latest book, they continue to dig deep into the realms of the unknown, describing strange phenomena they have encountered, including photographs of strange apparitions and light anomalies captured during their investigations.

Their journey has taken them to many places, including Burton Constable Hall, where members of staff have shared their own strange stories, including video footage of a shadowy figure captured by the duo in one of the rooms.

Other places investigated include Halsham Hall, where Vic and Christine captured several disembodied voices on their recording equipment. At the Black Swan in Helmsley, they communicated with the spirit of a little girl and captured photographs of strange phenomena. Among other investigations is the story of a local family tormented for years by an angry spirit who refused to move on.

Also included in the new book are stories from some of the people who read their previous book, including Rev Lionel Fanthorpe, presenter of the 1997 paranormal documentary series Fortean TV.

Heaven Only Knows II, priced at £12.99, can now be purchased locally from Wizards by the Sea in Seaside Road, Withernsea, the Burton Constable Hall gift shop, Silver Moon in Southgate, Hornsea, and the Fresco cafe at Hornsea Freeport.
