A mother and daughter from Withernsea were among the guests at a Buckingham Palace garden party to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the RNLI.
Marie Woolsey and Mandi Hibberd were invited to the event by the CEO of the RNLI, Mark Dowie, to mark the anniversary, and to recognise the pair’s long service awards, both having volunteered for the charity for 43 years.
The Princess Royal, Rear Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence and the Duke of Kent (the president of the RNLI), along with Mr Dowie, attended the party on May 23.
