A permanent location for the Withernsea Banking Hub has been confirmed by Cash Access UK.
The hub, which is currently based in the Shores centre on Seaside Road, will move to 134a Queen Street – which is the empty unit between Aldi and the post office.
The move will ensure continued access to essential banking services in the heart of the town, offering the same service as the hub at Shores, which was opened in February 2024.
Customers will be able to withdraw cash, deposit cash and cheques and pay utility bills. The community banker service will also continue, offering face-to-face support from representatives of major high street banks on specific days of the week.
The community banker schedule is expected to remain the same, but customers are advised to check for updates either on the hub’s window or via its dedicated webpage at cashaccess.co.uk/hubs/withernsea-east-riding-of-yorkshire.
The banking hub is run by Cash Access UK, a not-for-profit company funded by major high street banks. Its mission is to provide cash and basic banking services to communities across the UK, recognising that millions of people still rely on cash in their day-to-day lives.
South East Holderness councillor Sean McMaster said: “I’m very pleased to see confirmation of the permanent location for the Withernsea Banking Hub on Queen Street.
“The Shores centre has done a fantastic job of hosting the temporary banking hub over the last year. It’ll be great to see the new permanent hub open its doors.”
