Blip Active’s annual Spurn race was again sold out, with a maximum attendance of 250.
However, the weather was inclement, to say the least, and a significant number were marked down as no-shows.
The course was an out-and-back from Kilnsea Caravan Park, who again were great hosts, putting on free hot drinks (and they were needed!).
Thanks must be given to Kilnsea Caravan Park and the co-operation of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, as without this, the event would not have been able to go ahead.
Despite the wind and rain, Andy Holbrook of Withernsea Harriers led from start to finish and just missed the course PB set by himself in 2023 by seconds.
In second place was local lad Danny Uscroft-Mould, who we will be working on to run in Harriers colours in the future.
A total of 21 clubs from all over Yorkshire and beyond attended the event, for which we are grateful. As a small event, we need this support.
The clubs taking part included Jolly Triathlon Club, City of Hull AC, Hornsea Harriers, Withernsea Harriers, Cleethorpes AC, West Hull Ladies, Fitmums and Friends, Ackworth Road Runners, Lonely Goat Running Club, Beverley AC, Peak Running Club, Humber Triathletes, Rasen Running Club, Bridlington Road Runners, Winterton Running Club, Wolds Vet Running Club, White City RR Club, Cleethorpes Tri Club, East Hull Harriers, Valley Striders, Grimsby Tri and Danum Harriers.
