Leisure centres take the lead with dog-friendly cafes

Dog-friendly cafe areas will be trialled at the Hornsea Hub and East Riding Leisure Bridlington from Monday, October 30.

Customers will be able to enjoy a coffee and treat their pet to a dog ice-cream at designated dog-friendly tables, identified by a tabletop sign.

Councillor Nick Coultish, the council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “This is a great idea, and will benefit many of our customers in Bridlington and Hornsea – and their companions. We will monitor the results of this trial, and decide on the way ahead.”

The dog-friendly areas apply to selected tables in the cafe areas only, and not to the rest of the centre.
