
Hornsea School and Language College (HSLC) is celebrating the success of its under-15 netball team in the Sister n Sport competition.
Sister n Sport offers a platform for school and club teams to compete in a cup-style format, providing valuable travel and competitive experience for young female athletes.
The team has enjoyed a fantastic start to the competition, facing tough opposition and emerging victorious in three thrilling matches. HSLC defeated South Hunsley 41-33, Bootham York 37-24, and Ashville in Harrogate 40-38. On Wednesday, January 8, the squad hosted Durham Cathedral at the Hornsea Hub and earned their way into the semi-finals with a convincing 45-18 victory.
Now, the team eagerly awaits the announcement of their semi-final opponents and the location of the match. With incredible talent, dedication and fighting spirit, the U15s are determined to go all the way.
The HSLC netballers have demonstrated exceptional commitment to training and have consistently shown a strong team ethic and determination to succeed on court.

Meanwhile, the school has made history by securing its place in the quarter-finals of the prestigious Continental Tyres Rugby Union National Cup.
The U15 Rugby Union team has embarked on an incredible journey, overcoming formidable opponents to reach this landmark achievement. The team has displayed exceptional skill, determination and teamwork throughout the competition.
They have achieved impressive victories against Ripon Grammar School, Scarborough, Pocklington and Dame Allan’s School in Newcastle, showcasing their talent and resilience on the field.
To prepare for this challenging stage, the team has intensified training, dedicating two nights per week to honing their skills and physical fitness.
The reward for their hard work is a home game against Scarisbrick Hall School from Lancashire in the quarter-finals. This exciting match will undoubtedly be a highlight of the season and further solidify HSLC’s position as a force to be reckoned with in Rugby Union.
