As part of this year’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, members of the Withernsea Pier and Promenade Association have organised a flypast of two Second World War planes.
Over the weekend of June 4 and 5, a Hawker Hurricane and a Supermarine Spitfire will fly over Withernsea as part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Both planes played vital roles in the Battle of Britain during the conflict.
The Hurricane will fly over Withernsea on June 4 at about 1.50pm, while the Spitfire will fly over the town the following day, June 5, at about 3.10pm.
