Gazette on the move!

After being based in Withernsea’s Seaside Road for decades, the Gazette will be moving to a new premises in the town at the end of this month.

With the team having only occupied the ground floor of the three-storey property for the past couple of years, owner Brian Adcock took the decision to put the building up for sale in January.

After leaving the building on October 27, the staff will be moving – on a temporary basis, at least for the next few months – to the old Southgates Accountants office on the corner of Hubert Street and Queen Street, until they are able to find more suitable premises nearer the main high street.

All other contact details such as phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same, and readers are urged to watch social media for further updates.

Sales supervisor Zoe Broom, who has worked there for more than two decades, said: “I’ve seen lots of changes over the years, and shared many happy memories with the amazing people I have worked with over the past 21 years.

“The building certainly had its quirks, and I will be sad to leave it behind – but I’m very excited to be part of the next chapter with the Gazette.”

Mr Adcock said: “We’ve had a wonderful time over the years in Seaside Road – the Gazette has been here over 40 years. “It’s sad that its time is coming to an end here, but we were not using the majority of the property and it made sense to downsize.

“Hopefully we will keep any teething troubles as a result of the move to a minimum, and we encourage readers to come and visit us in our new premises just as they did in Seaside Road.”
