Church bids farewell to vicar

ST MATTHEW’S Church in Withernsea has held a leaving service and presentation for Reverend Martin Faulkner as he heads to a new parish in Warwickshire.

Rev Faulkner, who served the communities of Withernsea and South Holderness for seven years, held his final service on January 16. He will now join the Coventry Diocese.

The service was followed by a presentation conducted by church warden Diane Wilson, who presented Rev Faulkner with a collage of Holderness photography.
He said: “While I look forward to the new, I will greatly miss the people and churches of South Holderness, as well as the great South Holderness coastline.”

Reverend Diane Berry will take over from Rev Faulkner.
