Hornsea Promenade Bowls Club has been awarded nearly £5,000 by East Riding Council as part of commuted sums from local housing developments.
Following the award of £4,962.60, the bowls club will be contributing £551.40 towards the £5,514 project, which will allow it to purchase some green maintenance equipment including a scarifier and hedge trimmer, as well as some new scoreboards.
The final aspect of the project will see the creation of a slabbed paving area at the end of the green near the Floral Hall to create an additional seating area for players and spectators.
David Ward, chairman of Hornsea Promenade Bowls Club, said: “A big thank you to East Riding Council for the money – it will allow us to improve our green and buy a much- needed scarifier.
“Once again, thank you from all the members of Hornsea Promenade Bowls Club.”
