Another race to the finish…

Every week when I write this at five minutes to midnight (well, 3pm, which is our official print deadline on a Thursday) I’m pleasantly surprised that we’ve got there yet again, as it’s always a race to the finish.

It’s exciting and nerve-wracking all in one… and you may or may not know that I’m editing the sport, now, too, just because I like the added workload and pressure (!). With sport, as with news – it massively helps us if you can send your reports in by noon on Tuesdays, as things tend to get a bit manic after that! I’m really proud of our grassroots sports coverage, and it can only get better.

The less said about the fairly substantial bet I’ve got on Hull City finishing in the top half, the better, though…

And this is your final reminder about our short story competition – if you’re reading this on the day the paper comes out, you have until 5pm (Thursday, February 10) to email us it or hand it in at our Withernsea office. If you buy your paper on a Friday… really sorry, but you’ve missed it. It’s not like we didn’t remind you! More information can be found on page 6. Good luck!
