Another good day for open gardens

There was a good turnout of visitors and residents to an open garden in Holderness on Sunday to support their local church.

Cosy Cottage in Welwick is the home of Richard Pearson and Liam Symonds who moved in five years ago. Over this time they have worked hard to create a beautiful garden complete with well-stocked fish pond and were only too pleased to open it up for visitors to raise funds for St Mary’s Church in Welwick.

Good food and refreshments were in abundance for the many visitors who called to look round the impressive garden with its stunning views to the South before settling down for a good chat with friends and fellow visitors.

With donations and the proceeds of tombola a great total of £557 has been donated to the church.

This Sunday, August 21, Shaun and Debbie Hutchins invite you to visit their hidden gem of a garden at 5 Humber Lane from 9am onwards and on Sunday, September 4, it will be the turn of Larry and Jenny Malkin to open their garden at Honey Garth, Main Street, from 2pm to 4pm.
