Trio to represent town at Remembrance Day parade

Two Hornsea military veterans have been selected to participate in the Remembrance Day parade in London’s Whitehall in front of the King.

Father and daughter Mel and Tracy Watson were chosen to represent the Hornsea branch of the Royal British Legion.

Mel is a former member of the Royal Corps of Signals, while Tracy is the chairman of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force Association (WAAFA). They will be joined by fellow veteran Viv Middleton, who is also part of the WAAFA.

Mel said: “I feel very proud to have been selected to take part in this amazing national event and to remember lost comrades. It will be even more special as my daughter Tracy will be on the same parade along with Viv.

“It will be a full weekend, as we will be placing Remembrance crosses in the gardens of Westminster Abbey and attending the Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.”
