A new calendar has been released containing pictures of Hornsea’s “most famous” cat.
Since lockdown, the cat – named Lincoln – has achieved fame after he was repeatedly spotted perched on top of bags of soil at Hornsea Tesco.
After he was spotted making friends with shoppers and their families, a Facebook
page was created with the aim of sharing photographs of the community’s interactions with him. The page now boasts more than 1,000 members, and his story has been seen all around the world.
Now his owner, Lorraine Clark, has released Lincoln’s inaugural calendar to raise money for charity.
Lorraine said: “With so many people posting pictures on his Facebook page, we thought it would be a good idea to gauge people’s interest in having a calendar with proceeds going to charity. We decided a shared donation between Hornsea Inshore Rescue and Cats Protection.”
So far, people across Hornsea and further afield have snapped up the calendars, which contain 12 photos of Lincoln.
Lorraine added: “We had a good level of interest but a hard time choosing 12 photos as there were so many favourites. Each month shows the name of the person who took the photograph.
“The support towards the calendar has been amazing with many people donating more than the actual requested amount being asked for the calendar. We are hoping to have a table in Tesco to sell some there also.”
The cost of the calendars is £5, but extra donations are welcome. The proceeds will
be shared between Hornsea Inshore Rescue and Cats Protection. Local deliveries are also available, while further afield purchase will incur a delivery charge of £2.30.
