We’ve all finally managed to catch up on a bit of much-needed sleep after the Blue Light Weekend!
As you can read on the facing page, they have already set the dates for next year, so get them in your diary and don’t forget to keep reading the Gazette for news in the coming months about what will be happening. I reckon that people and businesses will surely be falling over themselves to be associated with the event next year given how successful this year’s was.
The money that the Gazette raised in the weeks leading up to the event and during the two days has been confirmed as £911 – which is an astounding total, though not a complete surprise after the weekend, I guess, as money was flying at us from all directions.
I’m so proud of our team for being part of it all – it was hard work, but it was immense fun – and I would like to thank everyone who donated for their heartwarming generosity.
The fun continues in Withernsea with the carnival which is running this week – and on the last day, Sunday, August 27, the Gazette team will be dragging the wind-battered gazebo out once again, so do pop and see us for a freebie or two!
Meanwhile, the carnival’s window-spotting competition, which has been attracting a stream of confused-looking families all week, has also been amusing us no end, too…
