Monthly folk club bids farewell to much-loved band

It was another successful and well-attended night at Keyingham Folk Club, but also a poignant and sad one as well.

Jim announced that the evening was to be the final gig for the much-loved Stoney Creek Boys and there is no doubt that their music will be sorely missed by everyone who has had the privilege of seeing them perform over the years.

All of the artists performed superb sets and thanks must go to John Tracey, Bernie Woods, Kevin Young, Andy Buckton, Rick Monks, Anne Rees, the Blackcoats and of course the Stoney Creek Boys.

I am told that the well-supported raffle raised £109, which will go towards supporting the village hall and a big thank you must go the Marie Doyle, Dave Medforth and the girls for the hard work and effort they put into running the raffle and also for setting up.

The next club night is Friday, March 17, at 7.30pm.
