Hull KR fans get ready to celebrate Challenge Cup victory with open-top bus parade

Hull KR are set to celebrate their Challenge Cup triumph this evening (Sunday, June 8) with an open-top bus parade.

The victory parade will set off from Sewell Group Craven Park at 5pm, heading towards Hull City Hall, where it is expected to arrive at around 6pm. Thousands of fans are expected to line the streets to cheer on the players following their dramatic 8-6 win over Warrington Wolves in Saturday’s final.

The club said the gates at Sewell Group Craven Park would open at 4pm and free parking will be available at St Richards School car park. No interviews or entertainment will take place at the stadium – all of the action will be on the balcony at Hull City Hall.

Humberside Police have confirmed they will be supporting the event, alongside Hull City Council and other partners, to help ensure the celebrations run safely and smoothly.

Chief Inspector Rob Danby said: “We are proud to be a part of this event, and we are looking forward to supporting Hull City Council and other partners to ensure fans can enjoy the celebrations safely.

“During and following the parade, officers will be patrolling Hull city centre throughout the evening to ensure everyone can continue to stay safe and enjoy the many bars and restaurants Hull has to offer.”

Road closures will be in place during the parade, and people are advised to plan ahead and expect some disruption to traffic and public transport.

“This is a wonderful day for the city,” added Chief Insp Danby. “We will be out to support our partners, enabling people to enjoy the parade and post-parade gatherings by disrupting crime and dealing with those who may seek to harm others.

“Anyone coming to commit crime or antisocial behaviour will be dealt with robustly by our teams. If you have any concerns, please speak to a steward or any of the police officers patrolling the area.”
