Bike show extension to be trialled

by John Prince

Councillors have voted in support of a music event that would see the annual Hornsea bike show being held over two days instead of one.

The show is typically held every August on a Sunday in Hall Garth Park, and attracts thousands of bikers and visitors to the town.

It is one of the biggest events in the town’s calendar.

Proposals were put forward to Hornsea Town Council for a second event on the same weekend, that would take place the day before on Saturday. It would feature live music, food stalls, and other attractions.

Plans are to have it in the afternoon until early evening, so as not to create problems later on in the night for residents living near the park.

At a meeting on Monday, town councillors voted in favour for the new event to be trialled next year in 2027.

It would be subject to reassessment based on feedback from Hornsea residents.
