Owner of damaged vehicle sought

A car that has been left on the side of a country road is starting to attract attention from thieves.

A black Land Rover Discovery 3 has been sitting in a field on Hull Road just south of Great Hatfield for more than a week.

It is just a few feet away from the roadside, and parts of the car are gradually being stripped away. There is damage to the offside front corner, which suggests it could have been involved in a collision.

The doors have been left fully open, parts of the engine are hanging out and smaller, easy-to-remove car parts have been taken.

An East Riding Council spokesman said that the council are investigating the vehicle and are following the regular processes to track down the owner.

He added: “Following the investigation, if it is deemed as abandoned the council may remove the vehicle.”

Humberside Police has not been able to confirm if the car has been reported as stolen.
