Great Newsome Brewery has cancelled this year’s Festivale, which had been due to return later this month.
The beer, food and music event was set to take place at Great Newsome Farm, Winestead, on June 19 and 20, with Sup-up Sunday also planned for June 21.
Organisers said the decision had been made because of unforeseen family circumstances.
Festivale had been due to return after a break, with local bands, food trucks, Great Newsome Brewery beers and family activities. This year’s event was also set to support the RNLI, with a particular focus on Withernsea RNLI, and a special Withernsea Lifeboat beer was due to be served at the bar.
In a statement, Matthew Hodgson and the team at Great Newsome said: “It is with real sadness that we have to let you know we have made the difficult decision to cancel Festivale 2026, which was due to take place on June 19-20, along with Sup-up Sunday on June 21.
“After taking a break in 2024, we were genuinely excited about bringing Festivale back and welcoming everyone again. However, due to unforeseen family circumstances, we are no longer going ahead with this year’s event.
“We know this will be very disappointing news for many of you, and we are truly sorry for the disruption and short notice. Festivale has always meant a great deal to us, and this has been a hard decision to make.”
All tickets, camping and campervan bookings will be refunded in full from Monday.
The statement added: “Please bear with us over the coming days while we work through processing these.
“We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Festivale. We are deeply grateful for your understanding and continued support.”
Festivale has previously raised more than £17,000 for charity.
