Withernsea Riff-Raff: vote for your favourite images!
The public are being invited to vote on a new set of photographs to replace the fading image boards around Withernsea’s Italian Gardens.

In recent months, Darrin Stevens (pictured) has been gathering personal postcard collections from individuals across the town as part of his Withernsea Riff-Raff project. With several collectors offering their images for digitisation, Darrin has pieced together fragments of forgotten local history, highlighting former people, businesses, buildings, parks and more.
Supported by a £5,000 grant from Pier Project funds, a new display – to run alongside the forthcoming QR code project – will see the old, weather-damaged images replaced with new ones selected by the public.
Thirty photographs have been shortlisted from hundreds by the keepers of the collection, and Darrin is now asking residents to vote for the 10 they would most like to see featured.
