A surprising Withernsea link has emerged in the UK’s entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest – with a mug from the lighthouse making a cameo appearance in the official music video.
The mug from Withernsea Lighthouse Museum can be spotted in the video for Eins, Zwei, Drei, the song that will represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
The track is performed by Look Mum No Computer – the stage name of British musician, inventor and YouTube personality Sam Battle.
Battle, 31, has built a following online for his experimental electronic music and for constructing his own synthesizers and instruments.
Lindsey Jones, manager of Withernsea Lighthouse, said she was initially puzzled when she spotted the mug.
She said: “I was scratching my head as to why a lighthouse mug appeared in the video, until I found out the singer is Sam Battle, the grandson of Jim and Joy Drewery, who managed the lighthouse museum for many years.
“Sam came to the lighthouse last summer and we discussed some of the furniture from the Kay Kendall bedroom going to his museum. The furniture came from Jim and Joy.
“Sam bought some souvenirs while he was at the lighthouse, although I never imagined he’d be dunking a digestive biscuit into baked beans in our mug!”

She explained that Jim and Joy Drewery had two children, John and Jane. John still lives in Withernsea, while Jane – Sam’s mother – later moved away from the area.
Jones added: “He’s such a nice young man, very down to earth. It’s fantastic news that he’s representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, and his video is attracting some very positive reviews.”
Battle performs under the unusual stage name Look Mum No Computer, inspired by the phrase “look mum, no hands”.
His Eurovision entry is an energetic track celebrating creativity and breaking away from the monotony of everyday life.
The grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Saturday, May 16, with coverage across BBC TV and online platforms.
