Weekend to showcase town’s creativity

A partnership between Hornsea Collective and Hornsea Village has created the chance to try out crafts and sample local foods.

Organised by Hornsea Collective, the Creative Summer Weekend will take place on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13.

Visitors can take part in a range of craft workshops and browse stalls hosted by professional artists and local business owners. While some activities must be booked, many are free throughout both days.

A spokesman for Hornsea Collective said: “There’s something for everyone this weekend. It’s a family event. You can pop along and try something new, or book in advance if there’s something you want to focus on.”

Hornsea Village, formerly known as Hornsea Freeport, has seen significant investment. The retail site is home to the popular Bugtopia, the Potteries, shops and cafés.

One visitor to Hornsea Village said: “I’m really looking forward to it. I like it here because it’s not indoors, easy to access, and you can take your time.”

The Hornsea Collective represents a range of Hornsea-based independent businesses and was created to promote the resort as a destination. Organisers of the weekend say it will help raise awareness of what is available locally.

More information about the weekend is available via the Hornsea Village website.
