Wassand Hall to welcome artists once again for day of creativity

Another Artist Day is returning next month to Wassand Hall, near Hornsea, following the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Charlotte Eldred and Phil White are developing the artistic and cultural side of the Wassand Estate with their Wassand Courtyard Art Studio project and the forthcoming Artists’ Day on Saturday, April 20, from 10am to 3pm, falls in the middle of their spring event.

Charlotte is the education warden and arts coordinator at the estate. Phil is a former Radio Humberside presenter and producer who has an art studio based at Wassand.

Phil said: “Wassand in the spring will be lovely – bright and colourful! The Courtyard will be a perfect setting for our Artist Day.

Charlotte added: “We’re working hard with the team at the Wassand Estate to develop the Courtyard into a centre for the arts and wellbeing, so to open our doors to show the work of such talented local artists is a real thrill for us.”

Confirmed artists attending are: Nutmeg Pottery, Jacaranda Jewellery, the Wooden Chair Company, Handmade in the Shed, Kate Jordan, abstract painter Helen Rowland and Helen Stubbs, glass crafter.

Phil will also be there painting and Charlotte, who includes colourful window decoration among her talents – will be leading “doodle for wellbeing” sessions. Other activities include a treasure hunt, making nature wands and fun with air-dry clay.

The Wassand Estate is signposted on the A1035 between Seaton and Hornsea. Admission to this creative day is £20 for a family ticket, £7 per adult, and £5 per child. Refreshments and toilets will be available.
