The pub with the best-dressed windows

By Ray Duffill

The King’s Head has won Hedon’s annual best-dressed Christmas window competition.

Of the entries to this keenly fought competition, the pub’s window display – including a toy fairground wheel – was the one that caught the eye of the judge, the town’s 675th mayor, Councillor David Thompson.

Runners-up were Apron Strings, Hedon Vintage & Curios, and Johnsons of Hedon.

The mayor passed on his thanks to all the shops and businesses in the town that took part and got in the spirit of the fun competition – and making their windows so much more interesting for the shopping public, residents and visitors.

Certificates were presented to the runners-up and to Tom Croft on behalf of the winning King’s Head.
