Second ‘Rumble in the Jumble’ hailed a success

by Tim Nuttall

A jumble sale organised to help raise funds for Withernsea Methodist Church has raised more than £300 to support the work of the church and its community event provision.

Sale organiser Lorraine Courtney said: “A massive thank you to everyone who supported our second Rumble in the Jumble last Saturday. A grand total of £305.46 was raised for the church and its community rooms through table hire and the sale of refreshments.

“I have always had great support over the years from church leadership members Gordon Beastall and Mike Cox. Whenever I can, I like to show my appreciation and help to raise some funds in order to help give something back to the church.”

Church leadership member Gordon Beastall said: “We are grateful to Lorraine, as one of our regular church users, for wanting to give something back to the church and our community.

“Our church is built on the strength of the community it serves, and we aim to offer the help, support and facilities needed to bring people together. This wouldn’t be possible without the help, support and kind donations from people like Lorraine and those who support our events.”
