People travelling in and out of Hornsea will face delays over the next two weeks because of major roadworks along a section of Westgate and Seaton Road.
The work is being carried out by Northern Powergrid on a new service connection. It started on Monday, and is expected to continue until next Friday, November 7.
Bus services have been affected, with East Yorkshire Buses having to divert services running from Hornsea Market Place to Brandesburton.
They are not going through Catwick, Sigglesthorne or Seaton while the work is being done.
A replacement shuttle bus has been provided by East Riding Council and is operating between Leven Church and Seaton Leas Lane, calling at all the stops to connect with services to Hull, Beverley and Hornsea.
Road signals have been in place for some time further out of Hornsea along the A1035, which have been causing problems for a while.
Permission was granted by East Riding Council back in July for that work to go ahead. Those signals are set to be there until January.
Diversions and signs are in place, but tailbacks and traffic problems are expected in Hornsea and the surrounding villages until the end of next week.
Anyone travelling has been asked to be patient and check their route before they set off, particularly at busy times.
Emergency vehicles are being allowed access.
