A parish councillor has had his long service and commitment recognised by fellow councillors.
Ray Lawton has been a member of Keyingham Parish Council for more than 30 years and at the most recent council meeting a surprise presentation was made to Ray of a certificate of service and a bottle of his favourite tipple.
David Clark, chairman, said: “Ray is passionate about the village, the parish council and everything that goes on. This has been demonstrated over and over again during his long service to the village and we are very proud of him and his contribution to Keyingham.”
Assisting in the presentation was East Riding ward councillor Sean McMaster, who also serves on the parish council.
He said: “One element of attending parish council meetings that I really enjoy is engaging with people who give up their time for the good of their communities, and who care deeply about their town or village. To serve your community for over 30 years like Ray has is certainly something to be proud of.
“Ray has shown so much passion and dedication to the village of Keyingham over the years, and we are all grateful for his service. It was an honour to present him with this well-deserved award.”
