People invited to recreate historic ‘flat cap’ photo

by Rebecca Hannant

Two Withernsea residents are attempting to recreate an old photograph depicting a group of men from the town wearing flat caps and trilbies.

On Sunday, August 4, Darrin Stevens and Jim Blake are inviting members of the public to join in the reconstruction – and they stress that it does not matter whether they are men, women or children.

Participants are required to wear a suit or jacket shirt and tie, and a flat cap or trilby. Fake moustaches are also welcome, and a limited number of flat caps will also be available on the day.

Jim said: “It’s no more than a little bit of light relief.

“It’s not about raising money, it’s not about a good cause, it’s just about recreating a little piece of Withernsea.”

Anyone wishing to join in can contact either Jim or Darrin via Facebook Messenger.

Attendees are required to meet at the old Lloyds Bank in Queen Street on Sunday, August 4, at 9am.
