New look for Lions charity shop

by Terry Bearpark

The newly refurbished premises of the Withernsea and District Lions Club’s charity shop were officially opened last Friday.

The shop, located in central Queen Street opposite the post office, had temporarily relocated during the refurbishment but is now back open for visitors to pick up some great bargains.

The reopening was carried out by new president Ron Duplock and vice-president Emma Robertson. Afterwards, a large influx of shoppers enjoyed browsing the updated store and taking advantage of the refreshments on offer.

The charity shop is the Lions’ main source of income, with funds raised going towards supporting many worthwhile projects and organisations in the area.

Donations of goods – apart from furniture – are always welcome. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 3.30pm.

The Lions also welcome new members. For more details, contact Lion secretary Jacqui on 01964 781688.
