
A motorist has been arrested after a fatal collision near Preston on Bank Holiday Monday.
Police received a call at about 12.20pm on Monday, August 25, to reports that a grey Audi A5 had been travelling east along Lelley Road when it is believed to have been in collision with a Harley Davidson motorcycle at the junction of the B1240 Sproatley Road.
Emergency services attended, but the rider of the motorcycle, who has been named as 68-year-old Stephen Coulson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist trained officers.
The driver of the Audi, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital to receive treatment to minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and possession of an offensive weapon, and has since been released under investigation.
