An 81-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a motorcyclist died in a collision near Ganstead.
Police were called to Longdales Lane at about 9.15am on Wednesday, September 9, following reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle near the junction leading to the golf course.
Humberside Police said a white Mini Cooper was travelling southbound on Longdales Lane when it was involved in a collision with a red Honda motorcycle travelling northbound.
Emergency services attended but, despite their efforts, the 77-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
As part of the investigation, the 81-year-old driver of the Mini was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has since been released from police custody and remains under investigation.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam footage or has any other information that could help establish the circumstances to come forward.
