Lions to help Santa on his way

By Ray Duffill

Holderness Lions are once again taking Santa and his sleigh across South Holderness.

This annual tradition organised by the charitable Lions will see Santa visit Sproatley, Hedon, Thorngumbald and Preston.

The Lions do point out that all of these dates and times are dependent on good weather, and the availability and good health of members.

On Monday, December 5, from 6pm, the sleigh will be at the Sproatley Christmas lights switch-on. Hedon gets its turn on Wednesday, December 7, when the sleigh will be at Iveson Lodge car park from 6pm to 6pm, at Fewson Garth on the Inmans estate from 6.30pm to 6.55pm, and Inmans School from 7pm to 7.30pm.

On Saturday, December 10, the sleigh will be parked up at Church Lane shopping centre in Thorngumbald, from 10am to noon.

Preston will hear the sleighbells on Friday, December 16, at Rectory Lane, from 6pm to 6.25pm, then Oak Tree estate from 6.30pm to 6.55pm, ending at Preston Community Hall car park, from 7pm to 7.30pm.
