Preparations are under way for a charity fashion show in Hornsea designed to suit the latest fashion-savvy shoppers.
With Oxfam once again launching this year’s London Fashion week, vintage and pre-loved clothing has never been more popular. Many designers are embracing the style as vintage high-end brand names return to the wardrobes of the fashion-conscious.
Hard-working volunteers of the Hornsea District Lions Club will be harnessing the thrifting and vintage trends with their annual fashion show next month.
The charity shop team have spent recent weeks exploring donations to create outfits for their Scottish theme, and models will showcase a range of donated items on the catwalk.
The evening, to be held at the Hornsea Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Back Southgate, will highlight some of the quality clothing available at the Hornsea Lions Shop, and will also raise funds to be distributed to various causes across the region.
Jean Robinson, former Hornsea Lions president, shop volunteer and an organiser of the show, said: “It’s a lot of fun. It’s a perfect way to find an outfit and help a good cause, too. We find pieces and create outfits to inspire people.”
Tickets for the show on Wednesday, October 16, are £5 and are available from the Lions shop in New Road, or purchased on the door on the night.
