Lions bring Santa’s sleigh to town and villages

Holderness Lions are once again bringing Santa’s Sleigh to Hedon and nearby villages, continuing the cherished annual tradition.

Children will eagerly await a glimpse of Father Christmas as the sleigh makes its way through Sproatley, Hedon, Preston and Thorngumbald, following a visit to Burstwick on Sunday.

Sproatley will welcome Santa on Monday, December 2, during the Christmas lights switch-on from 6pm to 7pm.

Hedon’s tour is scheduled for Monday, December 9, starting at 6pm with stops at the Queen’s Head car park (6.05pm to 6.25pm), Brevere Road (6.30pm to 6.50pm), and Inmans School gateway (6.55pm to 7.20pm).

On Thursday, December 12, Santa will tour Preston, beginning at 6pm with stops at Rectory Lane (6.05pm to 6.25pm), Rands estate (6.30pm to 6.50pm), and Oak Tree estate (6.55pm to 7.15pm).

The festivities continue in Thorngumbald on Saturday, December 14, with Santa and his sleigh at the shopping centre on Church Lane from 10am to noon.

Chris Railton from Holderness Lions encouraged residents to support the event, saying, “Come along and help our fundraising for the many good causes in our area. We wish a very merry Christmas to you all from the Lions of Holderness!”
