East Riding Leisure is inviting people to an open day at the Hornsea Hub to celebrate the recent reopening of its fully refurbished gym.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 28, from 9am to 4pm.
The gym redevelopment has seen the installation of 55 new modern pieces of fitness equipment. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out this new equipment and explore the upgraded facility.
The gym itself has also been fully redecorated, complete with a modernised, reconfigured layout which makes the best use of space and guarantees the optimal experience for gymgoers.
The new interactive features showcase virtual active technology and internet capability on all cardiovascular equipment.
Some of the new features include Ascent Trainers, hybrid cycle machines, functional trainers, ClimbMill Touch equipment, hybrid cycle touch apparatus and more.
All day Hornsea leisure centre will be running a range of classes and activities that are free to attend.
The swimming pool will host public swimming and an inflatable session, the RPM studio will feature a variety of classes including indoor cycling and a virtual sprint, and in the Group X studio visitors will be able to take part in body combat, body pump and more classes.
In the sports hall there will be zorb football, soft play and a bouncy castle to keep the children entertained.
There will also be community market tables to browse as well as a catering sample table.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “This event is a great way for people to see the impressive facilities that Hornsea Leisure has to offer.
“The upgraded gym will provide visitors and members alike a better experience moving forward and we can’t wait to see what people think about the improvements.”
