As his year of office draws to a close, the captain of Withernsea Golf Club has used the time to raise funds for the town’s inshore lifeboat.
Over the year Phil Burton has organised many games and promoted scratch cards and last Saturday his final game was a Florida Scramble, when nine teams of four took part on a cold but bright day.
Afterwards Phil took great pleasure in presenting a cheque for £1,000 to RNLI deputy launch authority John Hartland and station treasurer Ann Hartland at the clubhouse in Egroms Lane.
