Gazette on the move – again!

The Gazette will be moving to new premises early in the new year as the team looks ahead to its second anniversary under new ownership.

The newspaper relocated to Owthorne Manor in Hubert Street, Withernsea, in October 2023, after more than three decades at its long-standing office in Seaside Road.

The move came just months before editor Sam Hawcroft and sales director Zoe Broom took over the company in February 2024.

From the second week in January 2026, the Gazette will be based at 170 Queen Street, the former Active Withernsea office next to the Queen Street Convenience Store.

Sam and Zoe said: “We’ve loved being at Owthorne Manor, but we knew it wouldn’t be forever, and when we saw this property we felt being closer to the high street would be better for the Gazette – closer to our community, and easier for people to pop in and see us.

“We’re really excited – it marks a new chapter for us as we prepare to mark two years of running the community newspaper we’re so passionate about.”

They added that they would like to extend their “heartfelt thanks” to Southgates accountants and Tony Rookes, owner of Owthorne Manor, “for their kindness, help and support in the past two years”.
