Six members of HM Coastguard have been presented with Platinum Jubilee medals to mark the Queen’s 70 years as monarch.
At a presentation evening held at the Captain Williams in Withernsea, the coastal rescue officers, four from the Withernsea station and two from Hornsea, received their medals from the Queen’s Representative, Deputy Lord Lieutenant Colonel David Fuller.
Colonel Fuller paid tribute to the coastguards’ dedication and commitment to safety of life on the coast and also thanked their families for their support.
Also present at the evening and buffet, sponsored by the Coastguard Association, were partners and families and HMCG area commander Matt Atkinson and senior coastal operations officer Fran Wilkins.
