The annual Holderness Art Show is being held on September 8, 9 and 10 and there is still time to enter.
All the details and entry forms are on the Memorial Hall, Burton Pidsea web page, burtonpidseamemorialhall.org. This year there is an under-16 category and free submissions will be welcomed from Burton Pidsea Primary School pupils.
The committee will be at the hall from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, September 3, for the submission of any art for the show. Parents are asked to ensure the name and age of young artists are on the pictures submitted.
These pictures do not need to be framed.
The preview evening is to be held on Friday, September 8, and is a ticket-only event, costing £10. The evening will have some guest artists displaying their own work and they will be happy to respond to questions regarding their own art pieces.
This year a son of Burton Pidsea, Damon Taylor, will open the show and he will be remembered by many in the village as a pupil of both the primary school and Withernsea High School.
He now lives in Brighton and lectures in art at the University of Brighton.
Local author Valerie Wood will also be at the launch evening to present the Peter Wood Memorial Prize for 2023.
Preview tickets are available at the Tuesday Cafe from 9.30am to 11am or by telephoning 01964 670269. The ticket includes a glass of wine and the cheese buffet.
Everyone is welcome to join organisers on the night, and the formal art submissions will all be for sale.
