Brilliant effort in tough conditions

HEDON Blues Under-12s were back to league action this week with a tricky away tie against Hornsea Sporting knowing we would be without seven players.

The game started and was very end to end without any real clear-cut chances for either team.

As the half went on, the Blues missed a couple of chances which saw the teams go into half time 0-0.

The second half was quite the same but, as the Blues were getting tired with no substitutes and one of the 11 was carrying an injury, Hornsea came close a number of times. The Blues started pushing for the opening goal, hitting the bar twice and both posts.

It took until the 60th minute for the deadlock to be broken, as Bobby drilled the ball into the bottom corner.

Hornsea didn’t give up and won a penalty with minutes to spare and the game finished 1-1.

It was the first points dropped for the Blues this season but the boys did brilliantly in tough conditions.

Supporters’ man of the match went to Dan Stansfield.
