Beer festival goes down well with Floral Hall audience

Hornsea Floral Hall hosted a beer festival at the weekend.

The event, which took place across Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, was sponsored by Aitcheson’s Brickshed Brewery of Wawne.

There was an extensive range of Aitcheson’s own beers, lagers and stouts as well as offerings from local brewers Bricknell Brewery, Atom Beers, Great Newsome, Wold Top and some others from further afield.

This was brewery owner Steve Aitcheson’s first time at the Floral Hall and he was pleased with the overall turnout.

He said: “We had some fantastic feedback and the people running the hall were brilliant. I really enjoyed it and it was a great platform to build on for future years in Hornsea.”

The entertainment on Saturday afternoon was provided by singer-guitarist Ben Seymour, while live bands the Elderberries and Redwood provided the evenings’ entertainment.

Steve, who has been running beer festivals for the past four years, added that he was looking forward to his next one – at St Augustine’s Church in Hedon on August 25-26.

He said: “This will be our second year in Hedon – it went really well last time, so we’re hoping for another bumper year.”
