Arts venture reopens with new look

Seaside Arts Space in Withernsea has reopened with a refreshed look and new stock from local artists and craftspeople.

The Queen Street enterprise opened two years ago as a not-for-profit venture selling handmade arts and crafts and has since become a familiar presence in the town, showcasing work by creatives from Withernsea and the surrounding area.

Alongside arts and crafts, the shop also sells fossils found on Holderness beaches, second-hand books and a small selection of bargain-priced items at its craft table.

Last summer proved a successful one for the venture, following funding support from Do It For East Yorkshire. The funding enabled Seaside Arts Space to run free art and craft workshops for the community, as well as organised fossil hunts on Withernsea beach. The team is hoping to offer similar activities again this summer.

The shop is currently open Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 3pm, during the winter and spring months.

Shelf space remains available for local artists and craftspeople who are interested in displaying their work, with further details available directly from the shop.
